Joana Bastos nasceu em Lisboa, Portugal. Completou o curso de interpretação na Escola de Teatro de Cascais. Fez também o Curso de Atores do Teatro da Comuna com João Mota. Teve aulas de canto com o maestro Filipe Carvalheiro. Estreia-se profissionalmente no Teatro em 1998, desde ai integrou elenco de diversas peças, nomeadamente, Triângulo no Teatroesfera; Século da Lua no Teatro da Trindade; Fantasia para Tr3s no Teatro Malaposta; Eu Tu e a Terapeuta no Teatro da Trindade; entre outras. Integra os elencos de várias telenovelas nomeadamente, Olhar da Serpente; Amanhecer; Fascínios; A Outra; Doida por Ti; Mulheres. Diretora de atores nas séries e novelas, Feitiço de Amor; Morangos com Açúcar; I Love It. Direção de elenco infantil e juvenil nas séries e novelas, Olá Pai; Ana e os Sete; Deixa-me Amar; Tu e Eu; Santa Barbara e Massa Fresca. Argumentista das curtas-metragens, Vidas em Trânsito e MariAna. Frequentou o seminário de Gestão de projeto por Rui Matoso e o seminário da GDA, isto não é só um seminário. É membro Fundadora d´A Corda Teatro.
